Google Search Console

Search Console is optional, and it is the single highest-value optional thing you can connect. It tells us what people already type into Google to find you, which we can then compare with what AI engines say about you.

What it adds

• Real search queries driving traffic to your site, usable as prompt suggestions in one click.
• Per-post analytics in the Blog Calendar: clicks and impressions for every article.
• Recommendations on each post: without traffic data, the advice is generic; with it, it is specific.
• Automatic domain verification, instead of a DNS record or a meta tag.

Connecting

You are offered it during onboarding, and you can connect it later in Brand Settings. Press Connect Google, pick the Google account that owns the property, then pick the property that matches your domain.

If the property’s domain does not match your brand domain, you will see a warning but you can still continue. We simply note the difference. This is normal when your Search Console property is a domain property covering several subdomains.

If no properties appear, you are probably signed in with a Google account that does not own the property. Sign out of Google in that flow and retry with the right account.

Using queries as prompts

In the Add Prompt dialog, Suggest from Google Search Console lists your top queries from the last 28 days with clicks and impressions. Two cautions:

• A search query is not a prompt. “askairank pricing” is how people search; “how much does AskAiRank cost compared to alternatives” is how people ask an AI. Use the query as the topic and write the question in full.
• Pick queries with intent, not just volume. A branded query tells you little about whether the engines recommend you to strangers.

Disconnecting

Disconnecting stops the analytics and the suggestions. Your tracked prompts and history are unaffected, since they never depended on Search Console.
